WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade (head to opensourcebridge.science) Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item upgrade has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item upgrader mod from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item upgrading and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
