World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades provide players with the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.

Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stats and provide additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for caster builds.

Armour

Armour is one of the most important factors that keep Link safe from harm in most situations. While it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, you can enhance its defense capabilities in various ways.

The basic idea of armour is to protect a person or animal from physical injury or harm, either from direct physical attack or various dangers to the environment or activity. In the past, armour was typically constructed from leather or fabric, but later metal protections were also utilized for military purposes, particularly such as heavy cavalry or combat drones.

There are a variety of ways to upgrade armour however, the majority require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades available with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection, and require a higher price in rupees and other materials to unlock.

First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been installed and removed, they cannot be reverted unless you own another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the highest level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have enough of the materials needed to complete the upgrade.

In terms of acquiring the required upgrade components you'll find them in a variety of places around Hyrule including shrines, merchants and even enemies. These will generally be marked with the gold circle or blue triangle symbol and can be found in large numbers as you advance through the game. While they may appear randomly, there's an opportunity that obtaining certain upgrade components will result in a quest that will reward players with more.

It is important to remember that even though the amount that upgrades offer may vary however, it will always be greater than nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a powerful defense boost that protects you from all types of attacks and will also protect against magic. This makes it an effective weapon for any class.

Weapons

If you'd like to make your guns truly unique, you can upgrade them with a variety of special upgrades. These upgrades can increase damage or alter the stats of the weapon to match your particular build. They also allow new attachments, such as unique enchantments and different types of ammunition, as well as aesthetic options.

You'll need both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must be at least a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons only be upgraded by one upgrade.

You can find weapons upgrade components scattered throughout the globe and from the hands of enemies and can be purchased from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of components that can be put into weapons, armor trinkets and item upgrades gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or additional effect while they're in use. They require the equipment to be of a certain degree to allow the upgrade item. They can be upgraded in the same way as other items.

Upgrades are a mix of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They can be used to boost the effectiveness of weapons and improve their scaling with other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open or from merchants. They can also be dropped by combat.

There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.

It's crucial to prioritize upgrading your best-in-slot items first, and then those you won't be replacing soon. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your chest, shoulders, hands, and feet if you plan to play a melee build. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain products may be superior to others depending on your playstyle. Armour is the same, with certain refining better than others.

Magic Items

A character can upgrade only one item of magic at one time. If an upgrade project is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for the item will not start. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, however they may offer other benefits.

A magical item is any item that has special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they can also be armors, shields or cloaks as well as potions. They can also be scrolls, rings or other items. Some of these items are telepathic.

Most magic items can be upgraded to become enhanced with new abilities. This can make them more useful to players or aid players overcome difficult situations. An infused weapon might provide bonuses to damage against a particular enemy type, for example. This is particularly beneficial for characters who have reached a point at which they are likely to encounter the same type of monster in dungeons repeatedly.

A ring infused with magic could give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon, pierce, or cut (excluding silver-based attacks) until the character gets another long rest. This is particularly beneficial for combatants who are melee or anyone who would like to avoid the cost and hassle of purchasing an armor.

Certain items with enchanted properties have special abilities that allow the character to cast spells in addition to the ones on their class's list of spells. This is beneficial for characters who have trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell is determined by rolling an array of tables that is based on the number Intelligence points used.

Other items that can be enchanted may allow the player to change their appearance, or even create an entirely new one. These items are especially useful for characters who are forced to leave their home or located in an area where they may not be welcomed. An enchanted item might give them an invisible effect, or make them invisible to anyone other than a selected person.

Utility Items

Utility items are any equipment that does not fall into the categories of clothing or armor and have a variety of capabilities. Contrary to Weapons and Armor, no one utility item will be in conflict with the other. The majority of utility items have an effect that the player can activate when using them, but some have additional abilities that activate when the user presses an action button or activates an ability.

Generally, the most common kind of utility item upgrader kit is the Flashlight that is used to illuminate the surrounding area. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. Many useful items can be immediately manufactured in the Engineering section, while others can be unlocked through Research projects or item upgrades experimental projects in the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can unlock some more powerful utility items by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded for more efficient use.

The majority of utilitarian items provide the player with an advantage in navigation or enhance the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. For instance, Sharpening stones created by the Weaponsmith increase Ferocity and Power and Maintenance Oils made by the Huntsman improve Concentration and Healing Power. Other items of utility can be used by the player to boost Damage or Condition Damage.

XCOM soldiers can equip one utilitarian item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available after completing certain engineering, research, or experimental projects on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be obtained by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This allows the player to make use of the Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade remains in the primary slot.
