Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the Best item upgrade in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like eth Titans have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor upgrade items and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it, and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the required material or component needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from earlier versions. Gear is now classified into tracks and each Best item upgrade is able to be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple items.

Once an item has been finished being leveled, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of Best item upgrade at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the choice to transfer it to a new character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of materials however it will result in lower chances of success.

Engineers employ a level to compare the height of the building to an established point, such as an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." Rerolling

Sets

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
