Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Typically objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base while items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or gotten from missions and chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must select it and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade item stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph with another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, with the exception of the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item can only be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across several pieces.

This allows the Best item upgrader to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will increase its features. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will have no more than two affixes available for it, whereas legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item is not able to reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This procedure can take as long as two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower chance of success.

Engineers may utilize a level to measure the height of the building with a known point, such as an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can dramatically improve an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. Sets
