WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade item increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade item also boosts the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and Item level Upgrade cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Crests

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
