World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, Item Upgrader Mod as well as some non-ascended items. If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a significant possibility that the item upgrade will be obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs
